FastAttach™ enables dental offices to electronically transmit x-rays, perio charts, intra oral photos, EOB's and any other required documentation for insurance carriers to view in support of electronic claims. Transmit an unlimited number of attachments each month to NEA's repository where the image can be accessed 24/7 by a unique tracking number assigned by NEA. Additionally, FastAttach™ provides a simple way to manage and track your transmitted attachments, so you do not have to be on the telephone with insurance companies on follow up calls. If you are a FastAttach™ subscriber, you can also assign peers, such as specialists, consultants or other dentists to have the ability to view specific images that you assign to their unique username and password. They will only be able see the images that you assign to them. Only you will have access to all of your stored images.

What Do I Need Before I Get Started?

Windows 2000 or higher (with current Windows updates)
Monitor with a video card capable of 32-bit color
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
A High Speed Internet Connection
Must be transmitting claims electronically either from payor websites or through a clearinghouse
Must be able to digitize your attachments by using a scanner with a transparency adapter or a digital x-ray system

If I Have A Digital X-ray System, Will It Work With FastAttach™?

Yes. All digital x-ray systems can easily be used with FastAttach™. If you are taking digital x-rays, you will not need a scanner with a transparency adapter. However, you may want to purchase an inexpensive scanner that can scan documents such as perio charts and EOB's or intraoral photographs.

Do I Need A Digital X-ray System?

No. If you do not have a digital x-ray system, you will need a scanner with a transparency adapter. A transparency adapter allows you to scan film x-rays. You will need an adapter with a scan area large enough to accommodate the size of your x-rays. We are currently recommending the EPSON Perfection V700.

Will FastAttach™ Work With My Dental Software?

Yes. FastAttach™ will work with any software, as long as you have Windows 2000 or higher.

How Does FastAttach™ Work?

FastAttach™ securely transmits electronic attachments through the Internet to NEA’s repository. Depending on your claims clearinghouse and software, you will connect your attachments to the claims either manually or automatically with a simple tracking number added to the remarks section of your electronic claim. A confirmation report is immediately transmitted back to the provider. The attachments are stored for the insurance carriers and are available to their consultants for review.

Can Anyone View My Attachments?

No. The insurance carriers can only view attachments transmitted to their company. Each consultant must go through two levels of security to be able to view the attachment. FastAttach™ is HIPAA compliant.

How Do I Know If I Need To Send An Attachment?

FastLook™, included with your FastAttach™ software, is an online portal of insurance companies, their procedure codes and the attachments they require for each procedure. By using FastLook™, you can determine which attachment you need to send before you send your claim. If you do not have a FastAttach™ subscription, FastLook™ is available free of charge.

How Much Does FastAttach™ Cost?

For single offices, there is a one-time registration fee of $200 which includes software, installation and training. FastAttach™ is $25 monthly per office location and includes unlimited usage (no per attachment fee), along with unlimited training and technical support. There are no hidden costs. If you have multiple locations or are part of a large clinic or university, please contact NEA at 800-782-5150, option 2, for pricing.
